Illinois ACC Governor Election to Begin Soon. Remember To Cast Your Vote on October 19, 2010!

It’s one of the most important member activities in which you’ll ever participate. It’s the Illinois ACC Governor Election to the ACC Board of Governors! You will be receiving information regarding this election very soon from the ACC National Office. Please don’t ignore it because your vote is essential in selecting your representative to the National ACC. In addition, your vote determines who represents you and guides and directs the Chapter activities and initiatives.

The Chapter has three candidates for this election:

  • David Fishman, M.D., F.A.C.C.
  • Darrel Gumm, M.D., F.A.C.C.
  • Marc Shelton, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Visit cardiosource.org/elections for more information regarding the election process. Polls open on October 19, 2010, and all members are eligible to vote in Board of Governors elections.

IL-ACC Now On LinkedIn

The Illinois ACC Chapter now has a professional networking group on LinkedIn and invites you to join the IL-ACC group. You will need to sign up to be a LinkedIn member before you can accept this invitation. This group is a member-only benefit of your membership with IL-ACC. Please use your ACC membership e-mail when signing up for LinkedIn as this email has been pre-approved to be accepted when you join the IL-ACC group.

LinkedIn is a social networking site for professionals that connects you to other professionals with the goal of sharing contacts, ideas, opportunities, and more. In the IL-ACC group, you will be able to network with your peers, share information and resources.

Practices interested in participating in the Cardiology Practice Improvement Pathway or applying for Cardiology Practice Recognition should register to join a webinar designed to achieve the following learning objectives:

  • Describe the Cardiology Practice Improvement Pathway (CPIP) and the Cardiology Practice Recognition (CPR) Program.
  • Understand the value of participating in the CPIP and achieving the CPR.
  • Understand how to complete the CPIP data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Understand what will happen with the practice data once submitted.

Illinois State Medical Society to Host Conference Aimed at Improving Medical Practices

This one day conference is hosted by ISMS and CCPA Purachasing Partners and features top-notch faculty presenting timely topics critical to your preactice! The schedule combines lectures, question-and-answer sessions and a networking lunch that allows attendees the opportunity to interact with faculty, participants and vendors!

Attendees will learn to:

  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of a team and assemble the right people for their practice.
  • Explain where to find answers to legal questions frequently asked by medical practices.
  • Prepare for the rules and regulations resulting from the national health system reform and determine how they will impact their practice.
  • Recognize how pre-visit processes can improve collections—and customer service—and how to structure them.
  • Determine strategies to avoid missed appointments

The Chicago Medical Society designates this educational activity for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
