Symposium Objectives
The ACC has recently launched an intensive campaign to increase physician awareness of and engagement in the ongoing evolution of the healthcare delivery system. Of particular concern is the threat that patient access to care will be adversely impacted. This symposium will focus on a variety of proposed changes that may affect cardiology practices and patient access to care.
Recognize the forces driving healthcare reform;
- Identify how to prepare and deal with the requirement for data reporting to demonstrate quality;
- Investigate and critique the need for tort reform;
- Demonstrate appropriate adjustments as “pay for performance” changes to “pay for quality;”
- Compare the pros and cons of integrating practices with hospitals.
